Fourmother
There was smoke and everything. So what do I do with the glass pitcher, lid and blade? I would hate to throw them away since they are perfectly good? Will they work with another blender, because I'm definitely not buying the same brand again. Or does each company have a unique design? Maybe I should just give it to the Goodwill. Any recommendations for a new blender. It's smoothie season.
Wendi
Works great because you can make different smoothies for each kid without major cleanup. I use mine for coffee "frappuccinos" too. We use ours every day! Wendi
Diana in OR
I love my Magic Bullet, too! I resisted for a long time b/c their infomercials are so cheesy, but I finally bought one at Costco, and use it every day. As far as the good blender parts, I'd donate them to Goodwill. Someone else out there proabably needs those parts, especially the glass.
Fourmother
I love my Magic Bullet, too! I resisted for a long time b/c their infomercials are so cheesy... I went to the Magic Bullet website and was immediately assaulted by the cheesiness. Hey, if I buy 2 Magic Bullets, I can get a free 30 day supply of a fantastic weight loss supplements. So I think I'll look around at Costco. It really is too bad blender parts aren't universal. Don't they all work pretty much the same way? After all, we don't need Dell discs, IBM discs, and Toshiba discs for our computers. Oh, well... Lisa at Home
Then most likely you won't have to bother with this again. Imagine the nerve of the thing to die in smoothie season! Harumph!:D ~Lisa
abbeyej
I'd like to know too... I have a 12yo Osterizer that's actually still going pretty strong (though I just ordered a new rubber seal for it -- for 12 years of use, a $1 part isn't so bad, lol), but I'm definitely coveting a VitaMix or BlendTec. I want a blender that will blend *anything* I throw at it. ;) I, uh, just don't want to pay for it...
Lenora in MD
I have to say, I had to buy a new blender last year, but did not have a lot of money, so I just bought the least expensive one at Bed, Bath and Beyond. And it has been great. I make smoothies every day and it works wonderfully. It is a Hamilton Beach and only cost around $17.
Barb_
There was smoke and everything. So what do I do with the glass pitcher, lid and blade? Try posting them on Freecycle. You never know what people are looking for. Barb

Lenora, I hat to have to tell you that my blender was also one of those inexpensive Hamilton Beach models. I it bought from Walmart. I've only had it for a couple years and I didn't use it every day or even every week. I sure hope you have better luck with yours. ETA: I didn't even think of Freecycle. That's a good idea. Apiphobic
We bought the Osterizer Classic on sale at Target after our last one flatlined. Here's a review on blenders: Best Blenders
