fshinkevich
Hello, we homeschool through our local school district and are required to complete an in-depth unit on our home state of California. Does anyone know of an already put together program we can use, or is this something I would need to piece together? Thanks!
5Wizards
Hands of a child has a lapbook if you like those. http://www.currclick.com/product_info.php?products_id=1033&it=1 Or you could use something like this: http://www.rainbowresource.com/product/California+History/048845/1295902817-1545572 There are actually 4 books: CA History, CA Geography, CA Government and Economy, and CA Animals I am using this with 4 books similar to the ones listed above (but I can't find the actual books and they are not currently at my house): http://www.rainbowresource.com/product/State+History+Chronicles+Notebook/015098/1295902817-1545572 We are also throwing in some historical fiction books to go along. Good luck! Edited January 24, 2011 by 5Wizards
JoyinIndo
I second the BF California History. If you like read alouds and literarture based education then you will love it. We are using it this year (4th, 3rd, and 1st) and we are really enjoying it. It has great books, great notebooking ideas, and good websites that go along with what you are learning. However, if you are looking for a more traditional approach, I don't know what to suggest. HTH! JoyinIndo
