Manamana
"I Miss You Stinky Face" by Lisa McCourt That's what the used Scholastic hardcover is priced on Amazon and I'm baffled. Any guesses why this version of the book is listed for such high price? Was the author on Oprah or something?
Abigail4476
That's really weird, considering that the rest of the series is listed at between $3 and $14. :001_huh:
pqr
eBay has the soft cover at $5 and the hardcover at $
NicksMama-Zack's Mama Too
now WHERE is it? I will post it for a LOT LESS!!
Kathleen in VA
That particular book is being sold by Goodwill Industries in Indiana. Maybe they're thinking the buyer will consider it a donation since they are a non-profit.
Mergath
Sometimes you see that. I'm not sure why, maybe a typo, or maybe the seller is hoping someone will accidentally pay that much, but no, I wouldn't pay it.
gardening momma
I've heard from people who sell on Amazon that sometimes their listings get messed up and bizarre prices get posted for their items. Maybe it was RoughCollie who mentioned this? Didn't she sell books?
Manamana
My husband also thought it might be an error or typo. However, 3 other sellers have listed the book for a similarly high price on Amazon. A further internet search revealed very few hardcover copies available. The reason I was looking at the book on Amazon is I have a copy to sell and was trying to decide on a price. Any suggestions for a pricing strategy? I obviously don't think $900 is realistic but I'm curious what you hivers would do .
AngelBee
I've seen that on Amazon alot. :glare:

I don't know about Amazon but on Half, when you list a book it will automatically populate/suggest a price for you based on condition, etc. Maybe someone made a typo and the other three sellers just followed along?? Weird. Georgia
G5052
Some online sellers use automated pricing, so indeed the numbers can get way off and out of line. I've seen Spelling Workout books on Amazon for several hundred dollars. Who would pay that for a paperback, consumable book that is still in print and widely available? Likely it will go down at some point when a someone notices that their book isn't moving at that price. I'd look at other websites and pick a price that someone might actually pay. Ginevra
I've seen books do this before on Amazon from private sellers. Even posted about it here before. I'm not sure why that happens, but I think it has something to do with a mathematically-generated price point. That happened with a home haircutting book I wanted to get that was out of print. :glare:
dakarimom5
I was looking for the Princess Twins series of books for my dd for Christmas. Everywhere I looked the books were over $100. This is way to much for an I can Read book.
