tinkbaby
I see a lot of homeschool DVD curriculum that I would like to try, but it is usually advertised as "Christian worldview" and targetting people that integrate the bible into thier school. I don't do that and I'm wondering what exactly makes these curriculums "christian worldview". I mean, I can understand if the topic were say, dinosaurs, but how many worldviews can you have about anatomy or math? I guess my question is, how religious are these "not secular" curriculums? KristinaBreece
I think the degree of Biblical slant varies from one product to the next. I'm new to this, too. But if you want a slightly different perspective, you might visit The Secular Homeschool Community. They helped me differentiate between what is slightly Christian-oriented, and what is, like all-Jesus-all-the-time.

Good question. If a Christian believes, as it says in the Bible, "in Him we live and move and have our being" he/she sees all of life through those eyes (aka world view). Anatomy-when others talk about "vestigial organs" he will discuss how it would be great to be the scientist who one day discovers the purpose of [insert organ]. Math-he learns that it's just not a coincidence that the laws of math work every single time. Every subject-a wonderful glimpse of God's mind
CarrieF
I would describe a Biblical worldview as how one views all of life: through a Biblical "lens" so to speak. As a believer in and follower of Jesus, everything I come across will be read, studied, looked at, and evaluated in light of the Bible because that is the foundation of my personal faith, the standard by which I measure everything. That is not to say that I am not open to reading, studying, or evaluating things that are not considered Biblical, it just means that I approach them from a different perspective. Hopefully that helped you a little! :001_smile:
