HeidiKC
I know I've read here that you don't need the student text and the TM for MCT's Building poems, but I can't remember which! I searched the threads and can't find it. Is this right - I only need to get the TM, no other book(s)? Thanks!
abbeyej
You'll be just fine with the TM only. It includes all of the student material along with a couple of (minimal) notes throughout, then several pages of material for teacher use at the end. ETA: no other book(s)? You'll also need a good anthology of poetry, or several. There are brief examples for each concept he talks about, but it's a much richer study if you can look for each of those traits in more poetry as you go. Do you have an anthology you'd recommend? Edited January 22, 2011 by HeidiKC
Momof3littles
Bumping this. I haven't gotten to look at Building Poems yet, but will be purchasing it this year. I"m not certain if I'll be using it in a co-op or home setting. I printed the sample pages and it appears to go through a lot of the same concepts as MoH, but perhaps more in depth and with more student output? It is hard for me to tell from the samples. Would it be too repetitious for kids who participated in a MoH class in co-op last year? The samples were very close to MoH, although I'm sure it goes more in depth. Can anyone recommend an additional anthology to complement Building Poems?
