sue
We are finishing TT Pre-Cal this year...any ideas for 1 more year of math?
creekland
My oldest went straight from TT Pre-Calc to Calc with no problems at all. My middle son is doing Stats first (junior year), then will do Calc next year as a senior. They both took our community college's math placement test after pre-calc and placed well out of College Alg and into Calc, but I've heard (mainly on here) that some benefit from doing a year of College Alg first before Calc. Any chance you have a cc around where you can have your student take the placement test to see what fits them for next year? Or, if they never need Calc, there's always Stats. regentrude
After pre-calculus, I would continue to calculus. Or statistics, if your student does not want calc.
mims
I have the same question. It doesn't look like college courses are an option next year so which calculus course would you suggest?

Guest
Which Stats course would be a good idea to look into? Does anyone know if TT is preparing a Calc or Stats course?
sue
"At the high school level, we are convinced there is nothing better than Teaching Textbooks for Pre-Algebra through Pre-Calculus. Past that, Thinkwell provides a topnotch Calculus program." --According to Sonlight http://www.sonlight.com/math.html
sue
Any trig recommendations after Teaching Textbooks?
Myra
I would suggest AoPS (Art of Problem Solving)courses. You can purchase the books and work through them independently or take the online courses (which are fast paced and very challenging) Myra
creekland
Trig is part of Pre-Calc in almost any curricula today including TT. My oldest did Chalkdust's Calc without issues, but I haven't compared any others. I just went off a recommendation back at the time. My middle son will likely do the same since I still have it.
