Janie Grace
I know there was a duvet discussion here recently, but I don't think this was answered. Can you put a duvet in a plain duvet cover and then cover the whole thing with a coverlet? I guess I am wondering if the weight of the coverlet will affect the loft of the feathers and, consequently, the warmth of the duvet. Thoughts? I just can't find a duvet cover I like, but have seen some coverlets that fit the bill.
Sun
Of course! The weight of the coverlet will definitely affect the duvet's loft. You could also take the coverlet off before sleeping and give the duvet a good shake to fluff it up, but, IME, the added warmth of the coverlet pretty much counters the decreased warmth from less lofty feathers. Rosie_0801
What she said! It's amazing the difference layers make. I have a crocheted blanket comprised mainly of holes big enough to fit my fist through and there's a significant difference in warmth with that on. :) Rosie
