# Need help with an algebra question

Stumped and needing help with this:

(4k^4 + 6k^3 + 3k - 1)/(2k^2 + 1)

Can anyone help?

Rewrite the numerator as 4k^4 + 6k^3 - 2k^2 + 2k^2 + 3k - 1, then group into two groups of three and factor by grouping.

I couldn't get this to format right without putting the "." in there. I hope I'm remembering correctly, but I would do it just by dividing it out

2k^2 + 1 )4k^4 + 6k^3 + 0k^2 + 3k - 1

..............4k^4........... + 2k^2

.........................6k^3 - 2k^2 + 3k - 1

................................ - 2k^2 .......- 1

.............. __________________________
