SeekingSimplicity
Can y'all offer me some suggestions for really simple projects? My dd made a pair if really simple sc fingerless mitts. It was just sc back and forth till it wrapped around her hand. Now I'm trying to figure out something for her to make that's just as simple. Something quick and easy. JoyfulMama
You can use the same idea for a cell phone/mp3 holder. Make it the width you need, then make sure the length can be folded up and stitched togetheralong the side seams.
Cinder
My ds's first project was this hat. We had to look up how to do a magic ring but it was a good challenge for us both. (I'm not too experienced with crochet--an advanced beginner.)
TrixieB
Dishcloths! Your dd can use them for tub/shower washcloths too. There are loads of simple patterns available. Lion Brand's website has some, as does Lily Sugar 'n Cream. You may need to register (free) to access the patterns. Michaels has Sugar 'n Cream on sale for $1/skein this week, and I think the current Joann flyer showed it's either on sale now or will be soon. Solids, stripes, variegated... ChrissySC
Scarf - 14 to 17 on the chain, double crochet on the back loop, and add fringe by inserting hook into chain space grabbing the ends, pull and voila. :) You can find many scarf patterns. I like the book/bible purses too.
Heather in OK
There are some great patterns at Ravelry.com. If you go to the advanced pattern browser and scroll down, you can search the difficulty level.
simka2
Sc a rectangle. Fold making a square. Sc or Slip stich the sides leaving top open. Add long chain for handle. Depending on the size you have a purse or cell phone holder. She can make one side a little longer to fold over as a flap, and add a big botton for a closure. Then if she wants to practice some flowers...find a pattern (ravelry) and sew flowers to purse. :)
