Truscifi
:bigear: I didn't even know you could make them in a pan!
mirth
I was so excited to see responses! Anyway, I saw this online http://www.dvo.com/newsletter/monthly/2003/august/0803door3.html It sounds like a very buttery pancake. Not sure what golden syrup is. Another recipe I found had all proper name ingredients I did not recognize. Oh, help. I think pan-fried scones are do-able, but I will be discouraged if I blow it badly the first try. Parrothead
Golden syrup is a thick, amber-colored form of inverted sugar syrup, made in the process of refining sugar cane juice into sugar, or by treatment of a sugar solution with acid. It is used in a variety of baking recipes and desserts. More from Wiki here

TrixieB
Are you accomplished at making pan fried scones? Please share your recipe. Thank you. There is an awesome griddle scone (James Beard calls them "girdle scones") recipe in Beard on Bread.
