Julie in Austin
My grandfather died in Dec. About 10 years ago, I did an oral history interview with him and I'd like to somehow give it to his descendants (which number about 30) for what would have been his birthday in June. I also have a lot of family history stuff (hundred of years of ancestors!). My question is: What is the best format to give it in? I could transcribe the tape and make it into a book on lulu. (That may be kind of pricy and I wonder if everyone would rather hear his voice?) I could burn CDs. I could make a brochure of the family history stuff and tuck a CD into it. What are the best places for this--kinkos? What do you think? I don't want to ask anyone in the family because I want it to be a surprise! Guest Lorna
I think it would be especially nice for people to have the actual recording. I wish we had something like this of my father-in-law. It would be a very special gift.
Sasharowan
I also vote for the CD. My FIL died before my kids were born and they have no way of hearing his voice or knowing him except for stories and pictures.
