meet me in paris
Hooray! I'm so excited for this! We're starting anew in January with my 3rd grader - doing VP Greece & Rome via Easy Classical and I cannot be happier. I love how this schedule includes all the readers, extra geography, and IEW writing based on the VP cards. sigh... life is good. Thank you, thank you, thank you to whoever on this board directed some other member to Easy Classical and let me eavesdrop. :D I love you. mama25angels
Are those for grades K-6?
meet me in paris
Grades 2-6 for history, if you go by VP's recommendations. They do have schedules for K & 1, but I haven't looked at those.
Guest Momlovesbooks
We are using the 1st grade Easy Classical and we love it. Instead of history they recommend you do a State Study. For Science I am doing Biology with Elemental Science, but there is a Biololgy option on Easy Classical. I like that they include PE through Family Fitness. SophiaH
Nice, huh? We switched to the Easy Classical Early Modern History schedule about a month ago and I love that it also schedules in the Guerber and SOTW books. Instead of using her Geography, I ordered the Map Trek Atlas & CD set, and are using the maps according to the Curriculum Integration Guide that coordinates Map Trek with the VP cards. Easy! Woodland_Mom
I've looked at this many times, and for one reason or another, I've always passed on it. Question: are the VP cards and the other readings coordinated pretty well? For some reason, I was under the impression that you worked your way through the VP cards and SOTW, but the topics did not always relate with one another. Is that correct? Also: do the geography studies coordinate with history? How are topics organized/introduced?

Also: do the geography studies coordinate with history? How are topics organized/introduced? Yes, the cards and the readings are very well coordinated. It schedules some of the readings from the back of the cards, as well as one or two of the lit selections from VP. The SOTW chapters are only scheduled if they cover something that isn't covered by VP, so there isn't a SOTW reading every week. The ones that come to mind are ancient China, ancient India, etc. There is mapping for those chapters, as well as mapping for the VP studies. (It also schedules the Geography Songs book, which doesn't match up exactly.) So far it all seems to make good sense and flow nicely!
