brasilmom
Hello everyone, We just returned from a trip to Germany and are considering procuring jobs and relocation to Germany. I know that homeschooling is not legal in Germany. However, I am puzzled if the law applies to citizens and if people of other nationalities would be able to loop hole that law. Can anyone here give me some education and direction on where to look for further info? Thanks. Be well Miriam
Cherryanne
From what I understand you would not be allowed to homeschool. I live in Germany but we're covered under the SOFA agreement because we're military. Here's an article I found: http://german-way.com/blog/2009/02/03/homeschooling-verboten/ Good luck with your decision!
brasilmom
Thank you for the article. It seems to hit on my fears that no matter what, except for the military, the law is applicable. Lots and lots to consider and ponder over. Thanks again. Be well Miriam
Guest
I also understand the law applies to everyone except military dependents. That is the main reason why we did not move to Germany when dh was offered a job there several years ago.
