elfinbaby
I'm going to try and read through the recommended books in Well Trained Mind. Don Quixote is up first. I'm having a hard time getting the Penguin Classics translation by Rutherford. There's a new version by Edith Grossman out and I'm wondering if it'll be just as good. Coming from a background in theatre/history - I'm a little nutso about translations so I don't want to switch without a good rec. I'm reading reviews online, as well. Thanks! Jane in NC
When my son read Don Quixote in high school, I had him compare several editions off the shelf at Barnes and Noble. Grossman won hands down. I suggest that you go to a nearby bookstore and do a similar comparison to see which translation you enjoy reading.
