And has it worked well for your family ? I've been looking at it and it looks like a possibility for us .

Would like to know where you get all your books for the program ? Do you buy or get from the library ? We have a tiny not so great library here in town . So they don't have a huge selection of books . Plus we love books here and don't go too often to the library because we always have to take the books back :D

Do you follow the program as is ? Or just use the program as an outline for ideas ? Would love some feedback .

I use it sometimes. I had my dd 7 doing level 1a and a bit from 1b. I really enjoy the simplicity.

I used the science for a while. It is very easy. The schedule is there for that level. I bought the books on amazon. It was only one book.

Bible:

I love the ideas for LENT, Easter, etc. Very nice ideas...easy to follow. I found most books in the library...so I didnt buy them.

Math...

We use abeka...so I crossed that out and added my own math

English

We used abeka...I found the copywork is about the same as most WTM families use.

The english books they use look great...I would follow them next year...but we are switching to sonlight.

There Literature

Is great. Very easy to schedule. You can just go down the list and read them. Most are in the library. If not you can buy them at amazon very cheap.

History

we used sotw and This Country of Ours...was online free.

Science:

the schedule is very plain...you have a topic...and you read about it. I didnt like it for this grade...as I didnt want to study plants all year.

----------

The 6th grade plan didnt have all the schedules like the lower ones...They say they are adding them...but I cant find when.

The history book is hard to find. I think you can buy it at amazon now cheaper then some of the other catholic stores.

I ended up going with living history instead of the one listed since my ds seemed to retain it better.

As far as the science books ...they looked too hard. There are many that are out of print...and super expensive. So I am sticking with Apologia upper grades.

the religion in all grades are faith and life series. Very easy as the schedule shows to do just a lesson a week.

I don think there is enough literature...I think one book per term...but you are supposed to add in your own literature. But they offer great ideas for you to add your own books.

Although we dont follow all the books...I really enjoy some of the ideas that I get. I love the art, music appreciation, picture studies, lit. ideas, religion schedule, religious holiday ideas, and the schedules for my younger girls.

Good luck...sorry I cant offer more. Check the yahoo group. It is very informative.

My oldest daughter used MA's level 3 last year, following it pretty closely, and we loved it, though I kind of wish it had weekly schedules like AO. It was easy enough to work around though. I've drawn from it as a resource for my other kids. :)

I bought most of the books, or had them on my shelves already. I bought the history text directly from Ignatius Press.

If you're looking at using MA, you may be interested in reading Real Learning: Education in the Heart of the Home by Elizabeth Foss, if you haven't already. I think it really articulates the "how to" of CM based programs like MA. :D
