Prairie~Phlox
but I don't remember ever doing this. I want to make some lemon cake balls and I thought it would be nice to make the vanilla chips green. Any suggestions? I already have the vanilla chips, or I could just buy green dipping chips from Jo-Ann's, but thought the vanilla would taste better. Thanks, Phlox
Swirl
You can color them, but not with regular food coloring or even the cake kind that comes in the Wilton jars. It takes a special kind of coloring for candy melts. I think it maybe has to do with being oil based. Jo-Ann's should have it with their melts. It is usually sold in packages of 4 jars, they are about half the size of Wilton's. Primary colors may me your only choice, but you can mix those. Thanks, I might just buy some green melting chips and add them to the white for a softer green.
MorganClassicalPrep
uhm. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that you definitely can NOT color white chips with the Wilton jars.... One batch of chocolate ruined. The cake balls ended up being a bust anyway, proving that I am just not meant to bake!! :glare:
