I would probably ask MIL (his daughter) if he sent one you should be looking out for, or if he decided not to this year. Just so you know and can cross that off of your worry about list :001_smile:.

Ohhh, sending cash through the mail is never a good idea. I'd fear it had gone astray, iykwim. I would ask with the gentle preface that you understand if he could not/decided not to do it this year.

I would ask MIL. That way if circumstances have changed and he can't send the cards he's not in the position of having to say so, but if he did send money, you can start to try to track it down.

 

My mom sent my ds a gc by email that nearly went unused because neither of us wanted to put the other on the spot and ask why ds didn't get his usual bday gift/why she didn't get a thank you card.
