What do you recommend that is economical to get started up with??

I'm not 3blessings, but prefolds and covers are almost always the most economical way to start unless you find a good second hand deal. Cotton Babies (http://www.cottonbabies.com) has a somewhat new line called Econobums, created for tight budgets. They're one-size covers, so it's a big bang for your buck. I haven't personally used them yet, but they're here, waiting on Baby! They have a package of 3 covers, a dozen prefolds, and a wet bag for under $50.

I'm not sure if they'll be a good fit from day 1 (they say 8lb+, but who knows with different baby shapes), so I also have a few Proraps newborn covers on hand. Those are listed for $9 on Cotton Babies, but I know I've gotten them for more like $7 in the past.
