I'm not 3blessings, but prefolds and covers are almost always the most economical way to start unless you find a good second hand deal. Cotton Babies (http://www.cottonbabies.com) has a somewhat new line called Econobums, created for tight budgets. They're one-size covers, so it's a big bang for your buck. I haven't personally used them yet, but they're here, waiting on Baby! They have a package of 3 covers, a dozen prefolds, and a wet bag for under $50. I'm not sure if they'll be a good fit from day 1 (they say 8lb+, but who knows with different baby shapes), so I also have a few Proraps newborn covers on hand.
