Jyniffrec
but for Logic stage children? It seems like I saw something like it and now I can't find it anywhere. I could heavily abridge Clan of the Cave Bear but I would rather get something that dd11 could just read straight through and get a good idea of what life was like in prehistoric times (as much as anyone can know, I suppose). Laura Corin
Warrior Scarlet is set in the Bronze Age. I haven't read it in thirty years but I remember finding it vivid. Sun Horse, Moon Horse is also Bronze Age, but I haven't read it. We also enjoyed Ug for fun. Laura Laura
ThreeBlessings
You could read excerpts from the book aloud. It is a good book and I did read it when I was at your daughter's age. There is a lot of good content there. :)
Laura Corin
Calvin enjoyed this one. I didn't read it myself though. Laura

Jyniffrec
:iagree:I read this for the first time at your daughters age as well. I also have read it probably once a year, every year since. Oh, I've read the whole series, lol, and I look forward to the new one coming out. I wondered how it would sound with some of the more explicit, yet important, parts cut out. Rape is a pretty violent concept to introduce to an 11 year old. Maybe I should go back and read it again myself. Thanks for all your replies. I tried finding an ebook version of some of these books and stumbled across this list. Some of the books mentioned since are on the list.
Tohru
My ds read The Kin, I can't remember if there was any age appropriate issues though. It's a really fat book.
