Cinder
...by saying 'British'. 'English' only covers England, whereas 'British' covers Wales and Scotland as well. Laura That's how our family does it. As in "Do they speak American or British English?" Cinder
Cinder
To answer the OP, I voted Other. Growing up I always spelled it "grey." Born and raised in Hawaii, USA, so I should have learned it as "gray." Many years later my natural tendency is still to write it "grey." Not sure why. I also spelled "theatre" instead of "theater." And I pronounced "advertisement" as ad-VER-tiss-ment rather than ad-ver-TIZE-ment like the rest of my family. I dunno. I'm just weird that way, I guess. :001_smile: Cinder
thescrappyhomeschooler
I voted other, because it depends. My maiden name is Grey, so I usually spell it that way, just because. But, sometimes, I make an effort to spell it gray.
