Would this be too easy for high 2nd grade reading

If it's the version I'm thinking of, then level-wise it's fine, but the quality of the retelling isn't so great. But I'm not positive it's the same version I'm thinking of.

 

 

Thanks hopefully someone else would know for sure the quality of the story.

We did the unabridged Treasure Island as a read aloud (I read to him.) this summer/fall and my 2nd grader ate.it.up. The original isn't above comprehension level imho...if you have an advanced reader or it is read aloud to the child. My 2nd grader is no where near ready to read it to himself, but that's no reason not to enjoy the original. .02

 

We finished the book a couple months ago, and he has pirate books strewn about the living room...still.:D
