BabyBre
We do weekly activities to accompany our history studies. I try to make them hands-on and less than an hour long. I'll use SOTW actvities or others I've come across. We made corn husk dolls from colonial times, built tipis of sticks and suedecloth, or we may do some baking - just fun little activities to break up the week and, ideally, reinforce the lesson. Ds8 wants to do an activity for the Battle of Little Big Horn, and I'm having trouble finding anything online. Anyone have any suggestions? Pat in MI
Well, my first thought was maybe creating a map of the area using playdough or something so you can create the hills and valleys or draw a map showing the movement of the troops and the indians. You could always make a bow and arrow or research the lives of some of the tribes involved in that battle maybe create a meal similar to what they may have eaten.
