golfcartmama
My dd (5) is in L.O.V.E. with all things horses. We'd like to get her some nice ones to play with for Christmas and of course Breyer came up in coversation when I asked around. There are so many choices though! They have the Pony Gals, Stableates, Classics, etc. I'm looking for a recommendation on which series/type to start with? We do have a limited budget, but this will be her big gift from us and her Aunt will likely get her some to go with what we get.
vettechmomof2
We prefer the classic and traditional sizes compared to the tiny stablemates. My father built a beautiful stable/barn to go along with the horses as well.
Jenny Piaaree
If your dd is pre-K, I would steer away from stablemates - the legs break easily!
thowell
:iagree: We ordered the Stablemates last year and I was a little disappointed to see how small they were.
Remudamom
Get the biggest or second biggest size. Check ebay too.
Ottakee
For PLAY, I would not suggest Breyers for a 5 year old. Their legs break and they are very pricey. For real playing I would suggest http://www.schleich-s.com/en/action_figures/collectables/product_range/world_of_nature/farm_life/horses/index.html or some fisher price ones, etc. There are many that are a lot sturdier for PLAY. freetobeme
i agree with the fischer-price. . .we had these until the girls "graduated" to breyer. their legs are jointed. we still have quite the horse collection here, although no one has played in about a year. . .
