Unicorn.
Our video camera died, and dh and I want to get a new one. Which one do you have, or which ones do you like/not like? Any pros/cons would be helpful. We would like something that is easy to transfer to dvd. We had a Sony handycam (tape variety) and don't know anything about the new digital ones. Thanks! Unicorn.
My dh did research 2 Christmases ago, adn we got a Canon that was about $700. Wow. I don't think we can afford that. We are looking more in the $200-$300 dollar range. I bet the Canon is good though.

Starr
We have the Flip. It's under $100.00 and works well for us.
dcjlkplus3
A few years ago we bought a JVC HDD video camera. It is small and it holds up to 15 hours of video. No tapes or discs needed to record. It came with a usb cord that connects it to our computer and we can burn dvds from our computer with it (must have a dvd burner on your computer to do this). It also came with a cord that connects it to our tv and we can watch things that way. It also has a power cord that you can use to charge the battery, and you can also use just to power the camera. We got ours at Costco and paid $400-500 I think).
springmama
We have a Kodak Playsport- it's similar to the Flip, but can take a beating and is waterproof. Love it!
Unicorn.
Dh's brother has a JVC that we were looking at on Thanksgiving. He said he hadn't figured out how to burn the dvd's yet. I wonder if his didn't come w/ the cord? Thanks, I'll look into these!
Annie
We have a Flip UltraHD (8gb version) that you can get for about $170. It holds 2hrs of video. We mostly use it to take short videos of the baby for grandparents, so it's great for us. If you're going to be recording longer plays or recitals, it might not be the best choice. We love that it is small and easy to use. A USB stick pops right out of the side, so you can plug it directly into your computer to charge/transfer video - no cords to lose!
