Going to Gatlinburg, take stuff along to make rolls or make them before hand?

Recommended Posts

We are having Thanksgiving with Dh's family in Gatlinburg next weekend. I've never been there. I am taking rolls and was thinking about just taking my bread maker and making the dough there and baking them (we're staying in Condos.) Then I got to thinking and the altitude may be higher, so should I just make them here? Any recommendations?

Maybe I'll just make them Tuesday night (we leave Wednesday, or I could make them today/tomorrow and freeze them until Wednesday morning....

My parents live not far from Gatlinburg, and I've never had issues with baking there, at least nothing like when I lived in Denver and Salt Lake ... even there, rolls and smaller breads turned out fine, though I never attempted them up in Breckenridge, which is way up in the mountains, where it was difficult to boil water.
