I didn't buy them.

 

The only problem we are having is in how we read some of the story problems. They will state something similar to If Jon's age is twice Al's age plus Pat's age, what are each of their ages?

 

Both dd and I will read that as (2 x Al's age) plus Pat's age. What it means is (Al's age + Pat's age)2. It is irritating, and I which it was stated a little more clearly, but the bigger problem is probably that we read it in phrases. Both of us are probably better off learning to be more careful in how we read it.
