Maybe I should start adding more current literature...

Wow! Can a person even send a telegram anymore? When did they become obsolete?

I sent and received telegrams as recently as 1994 through Western Union. I think the rise of email and cell phones made the business impractical. Though there might still be some business sending messages to foreign countries with less reliable computer and cell service.

That is so sweet and funny!

At one point my daughter told me "It's high time I started being like other children and calling my room the nursery!"

That was when I realized it was time to cut back on old-fashioned British children's books.

How precious!

Sounds like he would get along well with my sweet DD8 who dreams of a dress with puffed sleeves. ( a la Anne of Green Gables) :001_smile:

my dd does too....and since I sew...yes, I have obliged that fancy.

I love that and, yes they would get along very well!

 That is too funny! My girls sat through The Princess and the Goblin no problem, but when we read Frindle they had a million questions! What's a principal? What does 'rolled his eyes' mean? What's first period?

 Haha, what is this strange culture? lol

LMAO!

My husband's aunt sent us a telegram from Germany in I think 1997 to congratulate us on our engagement. I still have it. ;)

Oh, and my son built a basic telegraph. Your son might enjoy making one.

My son would LOVE that! :w00t: Oh, and my parents sent my grandparents a telegram of MY BIRTH (!!) in 1972 to the UK because my grandparents didn't have a phone. :svengo:
