teacalm Posted November 13, 2010 Share Posted November 13, 2010 Used Hewitt's Conceptual Physical Science Explorations for ds's 8th grade science last year. Using Science Shepherd Biology primarily right now for ds's 9th gr sci. with labs and research papers, with matching readings in Glencoe's Biology Dynamics of Life 2004 (just because this is the required text for CP Biology in our charter school). Would have preferred to use Miller/Levine or Campbell's Biology, but I know ds is not the kind of student to have the patience and motivation to plough through these texts. Science Shepherd Biology is thorough and presents complex topics in a readable manner. IT does not simplify important concepts, nor leave out topics.
