Hedgehog
To My Husband Why don't you see me as I am? I'm snappy, irritable and rude. Sometimes I'm just downright mean. But you just smile, and say: You're always beautiful, to me. Why don't you see me as I am? I can get depressed, be unaffectionate and selfish. I'll even lie by omission. But you just smile, and say: You're always beautiful, to me. Why don't you see me as I am? I'm not conventionally pretty, And I have plenty of weight to lose. But you still smile, and say: You're always beautiful, to me. Are you blind? Are you stupid?? * No. You're neither. You're unbelievably forgiving, And you love me far more than I deserve. That's what makes you beautiful, to me.

Hedgehog
Love it! :grouphug: Thank you :) Sounds like you have a wonderful husband! Yes, I do. We have been through a lot together, and neither of us are perfect, but I really appreciate him. It's been a long time since I've written anything, but he inspired me to write it. Gratia271
Yes, I do. We have been through a lot together, and neither of us are perfect, but I really appreciate him. It's been a long time since I've written anything, but he inspired me to write it. We have been through a lot too, and more times than not I am convinced I got the better end of the deal. He is a much better person than I am.

mamato3 all-boy boys
Wow, that was great! And so true for my dh and I as well. As a matter of fact, I'm sitting here next to him, and I told him that "some other woman wrote this for her husband, but I feel th exact same way>>>" and made him read it. I cried. We kissed. I'm truly blessed. Thanks for sharing,

Hedgehog
Thanks :001_smile: I have a theory that many people don't truly appreciate something unless they come in danger of losing it - or maybe lose it altogether. That's certainly the case with me and DH. We didn't appreciate what we had in our marriage until we'd nearly destroyed it (between us) and since then it's been an uphill struggle to mend it. We stayed together "for the kids" - which isn't the best reason, but for us, it was good enough. I think our efforts are beginning to produce fruit, which is very encouraging for both of us.
