CalicoKat
Is there such a thing? to stop the drifting off . . . . . BUZZZZZ, "Oh yeah, I'm sitting here because I'm supposed to be working and now Mom can hear that while she was changing the baby's diaper I got up and started to walk away." emonline
I don't know where you get them, but yes, there is such an alarm. It is marketed for the sick and/or elderly, who would be in danger if they got up on their own. It is a pad that they sit on. If they stand up, the pad registers the lack of pressure and sets off a pretty loud alarm (it is used in nursing facilities and hospitals where the assistant may not be in the same room). TechWife
Yes! They are really called chair alarms. No, I've never used one at home, but have seen them used in skilled nursing facilities. I have seen bed alarms used at hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. There are many different types - just google "chair alarm" and you will see several. Of course, there's nothing keeping an observant student from learning how to turn it off.
