Aludlam
We will begin Prima Latina in a few weeks. For you guys out there who have already been down this road, were the flashcards useful? thanks
Chris in VA
We made our own out of index cards, and yes, they were helpful. Sometimes we used them to play games--make a second set and you can do a lot.
AllSmiles
We found index cards very helpful. We too made our own.
2_girls_mommy
I make my own flashcards in every subject w/index cards. (Each morning will find me scanning today's math and reading lessons to see if I need to make new cards for the lessons :)) But I purchased the full set for Prima Latina. They can be used again w/Latin Christiana. I wanted to purchase them simply because of my lack of Latin knowledge. They have the pluralized endings on the words which I wouldn't know to put on there if I was just to copy the vocabulary lists each week onto cards. That info may come in handy on them later, but even for now, my dd8 is noticing them and asking about them. They also have a couple of different translations of some words that I wouldn't know. Take my words w/a grain of salt. This is my first time to use the program, and we are only on lesson 13. But I am finding these worth the $. Dolphin
We have found them very useful. I bought them, with all I am doing it is nice to have something already done for me.
....
We actually don't use them, but we listen to the audio CD in the car when we drive somewhere. The 3 yro and 5 yro (who aren't even doing Prima Latina) have been reciting things in Latin. :glare:
Stacey in NY
I have had the boys make their own each week as part of the lesson, I think it has really helped them remember the voc. words.
Samiam
We used them for daily drill. Even it we didn't do PL that day, we did the Vocab cards. They were portable, so could be done anywhere. Don't remember the price, but it was worth it for me to purchase rather than make my own.
abbeyej
Absolutely useful and important to have flashcards (and use them!). Whether you buy or make is up to you, depending on whether you have more time or money. ;) (You can, of course, have the kids make them too -- just double-check all of their spellings, so you aren't reinforcing any misspellings along the way.)
