Amy in TX
It is a mystery, copyright late 1960s. Set in Sweden. The main character is a 15-year-old girl named Thomasine, called Tommi for short. Her father is a minister and her mother a dentist. Plot involves the mother doing dental work on a visiting Arab Emir, and Emir gives the mother a valuable ring in gratitude. The ring disappears, and Tommi and her friend Henrik unravel the mystery. I *loved* this book during my early teens in the late 70s. I checked it out repeatedly from the bookmobile that visited our area--nice memories! The title, I think, had the words "Emir's Ring" in it. Long shot, I know, but maybe someone remembers it? Faithr
If you don't get an answer here, try Loganberry books. You can submit a 'book stumper' questions and then people try to solve the mystery. Gook luck!
Amy in TX
Faithr, thank you for the suggestion! That site turned up a possibility, and I searched for it on Amazon. They had a used copy for 60 cents! I've just placed the order. Thank you!!!
