simka2
Ever since one of the twins was kicked in the jaw by a horse we have gone to Children's Mercy Dental Clinic or a pediatric dentist (who is affiliated with them.) Well today was dentist day...and ds has a smallish cavitiy right in the center of a baby molar....so pulpotomy and crown :glare:! I'm not happy!!!! I want to say "NO!" DD has 3 cavities, but her 3 are going to cost less than ds's 1. Errrrgh.... The other 2 kids were cavity free!!!!! Oh, and our insurance for procedures doesn't kick in for another 4 months so this will be out of pocket!!!! Vent done!!!! Anyone, not have this done to your kid?
EarleneW
I would get a 2nd opinion on that.
Carrie12345
Both of my girls' mouths "rejected" their pulpotomies and wound up getting the teeth pulled. However, theirs problems were more toward the edge of their teeth, so it wasn't as easy a fix. I don't know that it's always the wrong answer, but I would look into alternatives before having it done.
simka2
I'm thinking of asking him to "proceed with caution" and if there is no damage to the nerve to just fill it like a regualr cavity. We will see I guess :001_smile:
