Very small pumpkins (waxed) for cooking?

Recommended Posts

My son came in with at least 50 very small pumpkins. They are waxed on the outside. (I don't know why) Anyway, I had soaked the pumpkins in water with a vegetable/fruit wash and most of the wax came off. I cooked some for pumpkin puree' but I want to make sure these are ok to use...so we don't get poisoned or something. :tongue_smilie: (this is my husband's thought). ;)

When I scrap the pumpkin out, the pumpkin closest to the rind is green. Is this ok. It is very cooked...maybe to much?

Thanks for any help.
