Question about pie pumpkins?

So, I bought a pie pumpkin. I have no idea how to cook it. Help! :-)

Just put the whole thing in the oven on a cookie sheet and bake it in a 350 degree oven until it is fork tender. It takes 45min to an hour. Let it cool, then scoop out the seeds and stringy stuff:tongue_smilie:, next scoop the usable pumpkin. I blend the pumpkin in a food processor and measure after it is processed. I then blend all the filling ingredients in the food processor. I recommend a gingersnap crust and lots of whipped cream.....yummy!

I cook mine in the microwave. Cut it in half, clean it out, place it face down on a plate, cover with a towel and micro until soft.

Yep. And if you are lucky, the outside will peel off easily. It sort of looks like peeling a half a basketball, according to my dd. :001_smile:
