cabdriver
Greetings! I am looking at writing programs for my 11 yr old ds, reluctant writer. I would like to try IEW for my 13 yr old dd. For those of you experienced with the writing systems- Would IEW be too much for my 11 yr old? I was looking at Writing Strands for him, but it would obviously be easier on Mom to have them both do the same program. My main goal though is to find something that will help him get his great ideas on paper. Any comments on either program would be greatly appreciated!! Rhonda in TX
I am using IEW with my 10 and 11 year old with no problems. There are a few units we will skip for another year or so (5,8, & 9), but other than that it is working wonderfully. No problems here. carolinagirl710
I have used IEW with both my children, beginning when one was 10yo and the other was 7yo. I went very slow with my youngest but the oldest one did very well and was able to work independently. You shouldn't have any trouble if you take it slow and steady. There is a yahoo group for IEWFamilies which has a host of inforation and encouragement. You might find it helpful if you choose IEW.
