pattimiller747
I am looking for tips or resources to help my 9th daughter read faster. I wouldn't say she has problems. I just think it would be to her advantage to read faster.
choirfarm
My daughter used a computer program like I remember using in elementary school. It was called Dynamic Reader. It covered up all but one word at a time and went faster and faster. Then it asked you comprehension questions. My son did it also, but he was older. I never did, but I know you could scan in things you wanted them to read. I got it through my eye doctor, but you might google and see if you find anything like it. It helped both my children. My son normally got in the 70 or 80th percentile on his SAT 10's in reading. However, after that he scored int he 99th percentile. stephanier.1765
I know this sounds silly but more fun reading worked for us. The more I pushed the fun reading the more quickly he built up his speed and transferred that over into his school reading.
