Amy in NH Posted October 8, 2010 Share Posted October 8, 2010 CHOCOLATE SILK PIE 1 unbaked pie crust 1 C semisweet chocolate chips 1/2 C butter 1 C sugar pinch salt 1 Tbsp cocoa powder 3 eggs 2/3 C evaporated milk 1 tsp vanilla 1. Preheat oven to 350 2. Bake pie shell for 8 minutes. 3. In large bowl, melt chocolate chips & butter at 50% power for 2 minutes in microwave. 4. Stir until smooth. 5. Whisk in the rest of the ingredients. 6. Pour mixture into pie crust. 7. Bake 30 minutes or until filling has puffed, but center still wiggles. 8. Cool completely, refrigerate until ready to serve. KidsHappen Posted October 8, 2010 Share Posted October 8, 2010 OK, this is one of those deep dark family secrets. It's just not the holidays without them. Get two Deep dish frozen pie shells (I prefer the Walmart brand but that one brand name one will work) Cook empty shells per directions. I poke holes in the dough before cooking to prevent raised spots. You can also use pie stones instead if you would like. The cook a box a chocolate pudding per directions on box. Divide between the two cooked shells. While they are cooling make the topping. Use one box of cream cheese, 1/2 cup of sugar and a tub of whipped topping. I whip the cream cheese vigorously while adding sugar. The gently fold in the whipped topping.
