Analogies

When do you start introducing them in a formal way, or do you ever bother with them? If you do, what do you use? I'm considering the Critical Thinking Company's analogies workbook. It looks like DD might like it (although I've mentioned in the past how unpredictable she is, lol).

I introduced them this year, but I think ds could have handled it last year. I'm using a book from Prufrock Press. I bought the book Analogies for Beginners for grades 1-3. I also bought Primarily Logic for grades 2-4. The company has a lot of great stuff.

If you are interested in logic puzzle at some time, I found that Mindware's Perplexor books have a much larger number of puzzles per book.
