PygmyShrew
I'm interested in teaching D'Nealian Handwriting aka "Modern Manuscript", but here's my quandry: You know how ZanerBloser, A Reason for Handwriting, Horizons, etc. have the nice little books per grade level with lessons throughout.....well, I can't find this for D'Nealian. Does such exist? Can you point me in that direction if it does? Anyone have any opinions on how Modern Manuscript turned out for your kids? MaryElizabeth
I know D'Nealian has books (amazon). I don't know if they are like ZB, etc.
sixpence1978
BJU's writing style is D'Nealian and they have books by grade. I don't remember there being a book for K because it is integrated into their Beginnings program, but I think there is an "extra practice" book for that level. Beach Mom
I used Modern Manuscript with all 3 of my kids, it made the transition to cursive easy. Here are a few resources: This is a series with a book for K -6, the books transition from print to cursive, the link is to Grade 2 but if you search you will see the whole series - http://www.rainbowresource.com/product/D%92Nealian+Handwriting+Book+2/000363/1286373472-1782591 Here are a couple of others I have used: http://www.veritaspress.com/prodinfo.asp?number=217100 http://www.veritaspress.com/prodinfo.asp?number=217110 http://www.rainbowresource.com/product/Daily+Handwriting+Practice-Modern+Manuscript/013117/1286373472-1782591 For cursive there is the classically cursive series. If you search for d'nealian at Rainbow Resource there are probably a few more. Hope that helps.
