Any birthday dinner recipes you have used in the past or recently that were a big hit?

 

We're having a small birthday party on Friday for my birthday and I don't really have any preference to what we eat, I just want something different.

 

It'll be small. Me, my mom, my dad, my sister and her boyfriend.

 

I am attempting to make a Hershey's "Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate Cake, so I need a great dinner idea to go along with it.

 

I love cooking, so I am open to any and all interesting, fun suggestions that can feed a party of 5. Maybe even with some leftovers?? :lol:

mil once did a hot dog party with toppings and instructions for different regional hot dogs...she found the info online

 

another idea is a soup and bread buffet...something like one creamy soup, one veggie/chicken soup and one chili type soup with different breads like corn bread, sourdough, flat bread etc. Use smaller bowls/mugs so everyone can try each one

 

my last idea is make your own personal pizzas with unique toppings and sauces...bbq pizza, chicken alfredo with arugala, margherita pizza etc.

Thanks. We've been thinking about the personal pizzas idea, but since there will only be 5 of us, I'd just make two pizzas and ask what everyone wants.
