mittmaman
Has anybody used this? Is it mostly a writing curriculum or does it include "enough grammar"? And, last but not least, is Volume 1 supposed to be for 1st grade? Thanks for your help!!!:)
Storm Bay
We used it, but it was a bit overwhelming for the dd I used it for in Gr. 1 because of all the writing. Also, too much on a page (she's very visual). Not my favourite for that grade level, but I think it would depend partly on the child. I prefer FLL for Gr. 1 with less writing and more repetition and oral work for grammar.
AudreyTN
There is quite a bit of room to "write" and it does seem overwhelming. I had dd do most of it orally. Now, we ended up not finishing it... *I* needed more teacher help than was given!
Verena
We've used Vol. 1 for my then 2nd-grader. If I recall correctly, the WTM recommends this book for 2nd gr. (at least in the first version). We did most of it orally, but I had ds write a few sentences each day into a seperate booklet. Content-wise it was a gentle intro to grammar, but we didn't care for the antiquated look. HTH.
