Anyone know why my carbon monoxide detetector says "c"?

Recommended Posts

How old is it? We recently found out the hard way that they have a limited life (5-6 yrs, depending) (let's just say that when DH was trying to figure out what was wrong with it, he hit a button that caused security and the fire truck to come - they are wired into our alarm system). We had to replace ours, which were five years old.

It's not alarming, and according to the instructions, it should give a number readout if there are levels detected. But, it used to say "0". We tried replacing the batteries and it still says "C".

I would google the manufacturer's website and see if they have online troubleshooting, or owner's manual, or something like that.
