Love2Smile
Has anyone used these workbooks for your middle schooler? I am looking at the Spectrum Writing and Core Skills Language Arts. I am totally stumped as to what English to use and found these at Barnes and Noble. They do look pretty good. All the other curriculums I have used I don't like...such as LLATL, Lifepacs, Abeka, Write with the Best and Wordsmith series. I am at a complete loss as what to use. SweetMissMagnolia
I've used several of the spectrum english/spelling/phonics/reading workbooks for my son ---he's only 7 so I can't give advice on the specific one you're asking about but thought I'd jump in and say we love spectrum!! AHASRADA
I used Spectrum Writing for grade 4, Spectrum Reading for grade 5, and Spectrum Science for grade 7. It is a very thorough, user-friendly program for such a low price. I would say it is worth the small investment to give it a try. You can always switch later in the year if you feel the need, without the guilt of having spent a bundle on something you end up not being happy with (as would be the case with most of the other programs you listed ;). When in doubt, try the cheap curriculum first! And really, it is a decent curriculum.
