BamaTanya
books by Jill Conner Browne. It may be regional humor (I'm in the Old South), but I laughed so hard I cried. I'd have to close to book to catch my breath. Thanks for this thread. I'm picking up some of these for Christmas break!

aggieamy
Real Ponies Don't Oink by Pat McManus. I got it from a suggestion here and at one point while I was reading in bed late one night I started laughing so hard I woke my DH up. Ravin
Ditto for Dave Barry (particularly his novel), Terry Pratchett, and Skipping Christmas by John Grisham. Also, Douglas Adams (the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, etc.).
Gooblink
The funniest book I've ever read is Don Quixote. I laughed so hard I cried. A funny little aside: Several weeks ago dh was telling me he found someone who would work for "free" for his company for the promise of equity in the future. My 12 year-old said, "No kidding? That sounds like Don Quixote promising his squire his own island!" I laughed so hard, again to tears. Dh was not amused.
MagnaSky
I always go back to two authors when I want to laugh - Gerald Durrell (the naturalist), particularly his books about his family while they were living in Greece during WWII. Those are Birds, Beasts and Relatives and My Family and Other Animals. Any of his are funny, really. They are all focused on animals. I love Durrell's books, My Family and Other Animals is very funny.
