Julie in CA
I set myself up as admin on ds's new laptop. I forgot the password. :glare: Is there anything I can do??? (It's Windows 7)
Jean in Newcastle
Did you give yourself a hint? Like was it a name of a pet? A favorite sports team? etc.
Kate in Arabia
Dh's immediate response was that you'll need to reinstall.
Julie in CA
Dh's immediate response was that you'll need to reinstall. I was afraid of that.
AuntieM
Sorry I can't offer any real help, just a little camaraderie. That sounds like something I would do. I mean, where do you write down secret passwords so that you can look 'em up when you need 'em?
justasque
Usually the default is "admin". Worth a try.
Julie in CA
I mean, where do you write down secret passwords so that you can look 'em up when you need 'em? That's the goofy thing about this--I'm not the kind of person you'd expect to do such a thing. All of my passwords are neatly recorded & filed in the cabinet over my computer. Except this one. :glare:

justasque
I'd try all the usual ones, plus mess around with case - e.g. Admin vs admin, or whatever your frequently-used passwords are. Good luck!
ConnieB
I mean, where do you write down secret passwords so that you can look 'em up when you need 'em? In my address book.....it's the address or phone number or something of a name that is made up. If anyone steals my phone they'll have a hard time figuring out whether Sally or Jenny or Bob is the phony entry, lol. Now...of course that means you have to able to actually figure out yourself which is the phony and which is that neighbor from two moves ago, lol.
