Dolphin
Today is the last day of buy one get one free on the history pockets. I already have mine for this year, and I am getting the civil war for next year, but I am looking at 5th grade when we are back doing the Story of the World 1. Should I get Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome or Ancient Greece? Which does SWB spend less time on? What would benefit from a supplement? Thank you. Oh, the code for anyone else interested is HP810

sandra in va
Maybe you could get Egypt (fall) and Rome (spring) since they are buy one, get one free. Then you could take a break in the middle of the year. Just a thought!
amey311
We got just "Ancient Civilizations" - that was recommended with History Odyssey. It covered Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome, China, Egypt and Aztec (but that section gets used in the Middle Ages block) as well as "What is History?". http://www.evan-moor.com/Title.aspx?CurriculumID=7&ClassID=166&SeriesID=64&TitleID=262&EmcID=
sandra in va
The Ancient Civs is for grades 1-3. We used it with SL 1. It might be too young for a 5th grader - a lot of coloring and paper crafts. It was really fun - our kids enjoyed it, but they were younger. amey311
Oh right. I missed the bit about a 5th grader. For Ancients Level 2, HO recommends Ancient Greece and Ancient Egypt: http://www.pandiapress.com/images/Ancients%202%20Book%20List.pdf
Dolphin
Thank you all so much. I went with Ancient Egypt this time since it sounds like that will be in the fall.
