mom2agang
My son is 5 and has verbal apraxia. He has it pretty bad and is hard to understand. When he counts 1/2 the numbers sound like nine but if you ask him to show you 10 blocks he can do it or put the number flashcards in order. He knows how to count but verbally can't say the numbers correct. But he can show me numbers shapes etc. I would like to do a formal math program but I'm not sure which would be best. Saxon and Math u see uses manipluatives. Which I feel he needs to express he is learning the concept. I use Saxon for myolder and I don't want to do Saxon K with him. I would do 1st. But I'm not sure what math would be good.
Dobela
I didn't like Saxon K either. My son loved Math U See Primer at that age. There was enough variety that he didn't get bored and by using the blocks, he had the needed manipulatives. He also loved watching 'his teacher' on the videos with me.
