Kareni
If you homeschool with the assistance of a charter school or another organization that permits you to use funds to purchase non-sectarian (secular) curriculum, I'd appreciate it if you could provide a link to a list of acceptable materials. (I'd be doubly appreciative if information on how those materials meet state or national standards is also included!) Thanks for any help you can offer. Little Nyssa
Hi, here is an example of a list of texts that our local parents' program in WA state has reviewed: http://www.meridian.wednet.edu/mp3/ and choose "approved/unapproved texts" from the lists on the left. Hope this helps!

amey311
We don't use a charter school, but I know the workbooks at Evan-moor.com have the standards listed with them (to help out teachers who need to justify the expense). We get History Pockets there and I keep considering some of their geography books.

Our charter school also approves, and encourages, the use of Story of the World. Also, anything from Oak Meadow. Crimson Wife
Our charter school also approves, and encourages, the use of Story of the World. Also, anything from Oak Meadow. Forgot about OM and Calvert, those are also approved vendors. In terms of the state standards, your Educational Specialist/Independent Study Teacher should be the one worrying about matching what your kids are doing to the standards- that's part of what the charter is paying her to do. You just need to make sure your log indicates the topics covered so that she can find the corresponding standards.
