kfeusse
for a 6 year old boy? We have done HWT grade 1, but he is not ready for grade 2....so I need something else...thanks. Kathy
Sheila in OK
Well, I have LOVED HWT. Used it with two dc so far. If he isn't ready for the next level, I would just have him do copywork using what he's already learned. You could even get something like Startwrite that has the HWT font that he is already familiar with to make your own worksheets. Handwriting is the *one* thing in our homeschool that I've never been slightly tempted to switch programs. :)
sillymommy
We also love HWT. Have you looked on their website at the "A Click Away" activities?http://www.hwtears.com/clickaway/grade1 You need to register & enter the code listed on the teacher's manual. It has some printables & other ideas for when the workbook has been completed.
samba
Zaner-Bloser. I have a special needs ds9 and ZB was still a great fit. You can print out pages from their website for free.

nicholsonhomeschool
I wanted to stall on starting HWT cursive so we did one book of Zaner Bloser. I found that is was similar enough that it just kept us going until I wanted to introduce cursive.
